Our Biggest Ever Teacher Summer Course!

Our biggest ever Teacher Summer Course finished last Friday at Gaelscoil na Giúise with 135 singing teachers learning 15 new songs in only 5 days! The National Children's Choir runs a Department of Education approved summer course each year, led by our three Musical Directors.

This year we focused on music from all genres and composers including Caccini, Coldplay, and The Cranberries. The repertoire also features a brand new commission by Bernard Sexton, and a brand new arrangement of Mo Ghile Mear by Desmond Early.

Teachers learned about rehearsal technique, warm ups, organising your choir, breathing, syncopation, intonation...the list goes on! Thank you to all the teachers who gave up the first week of their summer holidays to sing with us!
